Debit Card Fraud

Debit card fraud can happen to anyone. Recognizing the warning signs and taking a few simple precautions can help protect your money. Watch our short video overview for a quick summary of what to look for and how to stay protected.

Watch for Warning Signs

Stay alert for unusual account activity, including:

  • Unfamiliar debit transactions.
  • Small-dollar authorizations or transactions, used to test your account before larger purchases.
  • Unexpected card declines, especially when you know there are sufficient funds.

Best Practices to Protect Your Account

  • Monitor your accounts regularly. Review transactions often through Internet Banking or the Arrow Bank Personal Mobile Banking App.
  • Use card controls. Take advantage of features in Internet Banking and our Personal Mobile Banking App to freeze your card, set up alerts and block certain transactions.
  • Keep your card safe. Protect your debit card and PIN. Never share them with anyone.
  • Watch for phishing scams. Arrow Bank will never call, email or text asking for your debit card PIN or other personal information.
  • Shop carefully online. Before entering payment information, make sure the website address starts with “https.” Avoid storing card details on unfamiliar sites or apps.
